Ceanothus ‘Blue Sapphire’

Ceanothus-'Blue-Sapphire'-(23)

This low growing evergreen shrub combines a good habit with attractive foliage and dark blue flowers.

Ceanothus-'Blue-Sapphire'-(14)Its broad spreading habit (not unlike C. thyrsiflorus var. repens) makes it perfect for large scale plantings with a smashing effect, excellent together with variegated foliage and white and yellow flowers, as well in tubs or pots.

Hardiness is comparable with C. thyrsiflorus var. repens. Sapphire blue flowers stand in dense clusters during late spring and early summer, a superb combination with the foliage, which is dark bronze green when unfolding and dark green afterwards.

The obovate leaves are rather small.

Available in Europe.
