Clematis montana are fastgrowing climbers up to 6m high. They are very winter hardy and flower very richly in spring. ‘Dusky Star’ is a newly developed Clematis from New Zealand. It is striking in its semi-double, two-coloured flowers.

The four lower petals are pink, spotted dark pink, while the staminodes are dark pinkish-red and spotted as well. The margins of the petals and staminodes are wave thus creating an elegant flower.

The flowers are about 6cm in diameter. Because they are semi-double they allow a good view on the creamy-yellow anthers and make good effect against the pink sepals ‘Dusky Star’ looks great against walls, trellis or in a tree.
