Hydrangea Levana

The strong growing ‘Levana’ Hydrangea produces, if pruned back in spring, very large flower heads up to 20 inches (50 cm) long at the end of stiff twigs, nicely spread over the whole plant.

hydrangea-levana-2678The striking pure white sterile flowers are up to 2.5 inches long. The showy florets, standing on a long peduncle, are composed of mostly 4, sometimes 5 not overlapping sepals creating many attractive stars reaching for the sky during summer. The abundant fragrant white fertile flowers attract lots of insects and even butterflies.

  • The ‘Levana’ Hydrangea is disease-free and prefers a quite sunny location.
  • It is extremely adaptable and will grow on acid as well as on alkaline soils.
  • It can be used as a solitary eye-catcher, in groups or in mass planting.
