Caryopteris clandonensis ‘Summer Sorbet’

The small genus Caryopteris is well-known for its spectacular flowers in early autumn. Apart from the various green-leaved cultivars of Caryopteris clandonensis, a new, variegated cultivar is introduced: ‘Summer Sorbet’.

‘Summer Sorbet’ is a broad upright growing shrub with a globular habit. The leaves are dark greyish-green with conspicuous greenish-yellow margins. The clear blue flowers appear in compact clusters in September. This new Caryopteris is not only showy in autumn, but due to the variegated foliage, it is attractive during spring and summer as well. ‘Summer Sorbet’ can be used in the garden, but will also do excellent as a pot plant.
